While training for a 70.3 triathlon in late winter of 2007 I suffered a bicycle accident that resulted in a broken femur. As expected this has resulted in what I call the snow globe affect on life. In other words my little world has been all shook up.

Its safe to say that I have a ton of fear about possible outcomes. This injury is one that will stick with me one way or another forever.
Its not all been negative, I’ve learned a ton about myself & life in general. (I would have been happy leaning this stuff in another way.)
There has been a ton of stuff in the past that I should have written about but I didn’t. Today I find myself right in the middle of this experience so I’m going to write about it.
In this writing I’m going to brush on what got me here, what the experience has been like, but the part I’m most excited about writing about is the recovery process. (God knows its not my first recovery) I guarantee you’ll find some spelling errors, improper use of the English language as well as some profanity.
You may be asking what the hell does “Dumb Focus” mean. Its a line from Lance Armstrong, he was referring to the focus it takes to compete a high level. To me it meant just the amount of focus put into something that other people don’t understand.
You’ll find navigation to the right of the page that leads to posts, links & other random stuff. I’ll number the posts in the order they happened & across the top of the page is some navigation to other information.
ENJOY!
I’m glad you started this and I’m really enjoying it. Although your latest blog on what you’d be doing in our training plan makes me feel weak, maybe I should be doing more.
